What separates Durham Haus Working Dogs from the rest of the competition?
"Always at the bottom of the Totem pole, the first to be called out"
This is the average respect that most K-9 Handlers receive. For years
Arkansas has had an Officer Certification course.
It is understood that a "Certified Dog" is a "Certified K-9 Handler".
This is the myth that many law enforcement departments live with.
Since 1990 the Arkansas Commission of Law Enforcement Standards and Training has had
a K-9 Handler program.
The K-9 Handler Certifications range from Drug Dog Handler, Utility Drug Dog Handler,
Explosive Drug Dog Handler, and Utility Explosive Drug Dog Handler.
These are all accredited courses.
The day of the mean, snarling police dog went down the tubes after the Second World
War.
The war dogs were so out of control. They were considered too risky to
bring back from the war. The dogs were left behind.
Today there are better trainers. There are better dogs.
There are educated departments. There are certifications for both the
handler and his partner.
Durham Haus Working Dogs is not a group of officers signing off for each other.
Certifications is what law enforcement is.
Durham Haus Working Dogs has never sold a dog to a department without proper
certifications for handler and dog.
Anyone can sell a dog for a cheap price. Anyone can proclaim it a
police dog just because the dog can bite.
This is what separates Durham Haus Working Dogs from the others.
Our staff has been in front of enough competition judges to be certified.
Only a judge (not a fellow officer) can grade your performances.
This lets the staff know whether or not they are keeping up with Standards and
changes.
The seller of police dogs must have some competition experience.
The number of dogs on the street today with no obedience is frightening.
Choose trainers with proper certifications to certify your K-9 teams.
